Walking on the shore,
Winds blowing slow-
Like never before.
Gaze drifted down,
Saw a shell-
Lying on its own.

Questions started to sprout,
And they grew abound;
Does the sea miss the shell,
Or is it the other way round?

Shells are aplenty,
But sea-alone.
It might miss this shell,
But surely it’ll get another one.

But this shell’s here,
High and dry;
Was with sea moments ago,
And now-hot sun and sky.

Life isn’t the same anymore,
Not without sea;
Silently prays “hope what sea gets
Is way better than me”.
