The hard work

I've been watching this TV series, Suits. Nice little legal drama, full of stylized sets and quips.

I remember this one line, where an attorney tells his would-be client: "I'm not interested in getting your business. I want to keep it."

Nice little philosophy which explains what is wrong with most of us, especially me.

We all want things to happen in our favour.

We toil hard to make that happen. And then what?

How are we going to 'keep the business' for ourselves?

We manage to get out of the door, but have we ever thought about how the journey will pan out?

We wouldn't be depressed and confused if we focused our energies on keeping the business instead of just getting it. That's where the hard work, and all the fun, lies.
